#9 Encourage “Sit With Me” – 101 Ways to Attract More Visitors

#9, encourage your members to invite and encourage them to ask people to sit with me. My friend Stephen Brewster, who used to be at Real Life Church, uses the sit with me cards at all of their campuses. And it’s a way that they encourage their members to invite their friends. It’s a real simple card you can see here on the front it says sit with me and on the back it has the campus information with the URL.
And so it’s just an easy way for people to invite their friends and they have one of these for each of their campuses. And this is the kind of language that they use all of the time at their church.
Ask yourself this question, 'Who can come sit with me?' @johnfalke Click To TweetYou might say something like this at your announcements, “Hey, next week we’re starting a new series and we really want you to invite your friends. So we want you to be asking yourself this question, ‘who can come sit with me?’ Right? Who’s going to come sit with you next week for our new series? Take one of these cards. Invite your friend, give it to them so that they know the service times. Tell them when you’re going to come and invite them to the service with you to come and sit.”
This is so simple and yet it’s so powerful because sometimes the ask… people don’t even know what to ask their friends, and so by kind of boiling it down to basically saying, “Hey, do you want to come sit with me at church? We’re doing this new thing, it’s going to be really awesome, or we’re having this special event. Would you like to come to my church? And then stick around afterwards for the egg hunt or for the pictures with Santa or for whatever it is.”
