Hey Digital Communicators, I’m John Falke from Johnny Flash Productions and Amplified Impact, and this is 101 Ways to Attract More Visitors, a practical guide for churches to amplify their impact and reach their communities. Now let’s amp it up.

#6, analyze recent guests, so what you want to do is when you have people coming to your church occasionally as guests, you want to figure out how they came to your church, why they came to your church, what informed their decision to come, and the easiest way to get this data from your first time visitors is to have it on your connection card or your first time visitors card or whatever you call it at your church.

Use how people hear about your church to influence your marketing and communication.'' @johnfalke Share on X

So basically when you ask for their name and their email and whatever else you ask them for at the bottom, say, “how did you hear about us?” Or “why did you decide to come?” And then give them some options to choose from. Maybe you provide like a friend a just drove by, you know, found it online. Maybe you put social media or if you have some other ways that you’re regularly promoting for first time visitors to come with some kind of ads or billboards or whatever you use, give those as options.

It’s better to give them options on the card. Then to have a fill in the blank because if you have a fill in the blank on the card, it’s hard to compile that into data, but if you give them, you know, six or seven choices or maybe an other spot where they can write in something, then you’ll be able to compile that data over the course of a month or two and figure out where your guests are coming from and why they’re coming.

Then use that information to better reach people and inform your marketing and your communication because you’ll know why people are coming and which ways they’re hearing from and maybe some ways that you’re trying to reach visitors that they aren’t working.

You can kind of figure out over time that you know, those billboards that we have around town. No one seems to really notice those. Or maybe you need to tweak what’s on those billboards.

So analyze your recent guests and how they’re coming to the church and use that information to influence how you reach more people.

In the next video, I’m going to tell you how to balance prayer and work so that you can attract even more visitors to your church. Until then, amp it up.
