Number 39 Use Facebook Live. Video is king on the Internet right now. YouTube is exploding. Video on Facebook and Instagram and other social platforms is exploding.

When was the last time your church used Facebook Live? @johnfalke Click To Tweet

And so you want to ride this wave as long as you can while as long as it’s a tsunami, you want to be on that wave. So if you’re not already using Facebook Live, Facebook Live is a way that you can broadcast live video to your Facebook followers or your friends. And it gets more reach. Right? Facebook has an algorithm that decides which posts show up in your feed because there’s so many posts they can’t show all of your friends content in your feed it would just be too overwhelming. So decide who you’re most interested in what topics, what people, and then they show that content to you. But when you use Facebook Live your video goes out to more people that you’re connected with. And so you want to utilize this in a lot of different ways at your church, right?

Maybe your pastor gets on and does a quick recap of what the Sunday service or sermon was about. Maybe he gives a little tease about hey this coming week we’re going to be talking about this and he just jumps on Facebook live for a couple of minutes and tells people.

Now when you can tell your followers that you’re going to be going live. So if you can do it consistently like at the same day and time each week or if you kind of only do it sporadically then maybe in your weekly e-mail newsletter or whatever give them a heads up. “Hey this Thursday, Pastor Rob is going to be going on Facebook Live. You don’t want to miss it. We’ll be there at 3:00 p.m. Eastern.” Or whatever. Right? Give people a heads up that you are going to go live then you have even more engagement and be sure when you’re doing live video that you engage with the people who are watching.

So you can look at the comment stream you can kind of talk back you can ask people to do thumbs up or like this if you know they can relate to something engage them so that they’ll participate and they’ll stick around longer and maybe they’ll even share it with their friends.

In the next video going to show you how to use a secret visitor to improve your church experience so you can attract more visitors. Until then amp it up.
